The Winter Blahs....

I hate all this white stuff that has accumulated around me.  I can't wait for flowers to bloom, crickets to chrip, and for the sun to shine brightly on my face.  I have been eating lots of juicy pineapple and spritzing tropical scents on my pulse points, but I'm still suffering from the winter blahs.

In other news... Ryan and I have been searching for a new couch and we think we found the perfect set... couch, love seat, and chaise lounge.  We have wanted a new couch since we moved into our apartment 3 years ago.  The couch we have now is a hand-me-down from my Mom and it's older than me!  We started looking last year but decided to put it on hold until after the wedding.  Hopefully after tax season we will have a pretty new living room.

New Years Resolutions...

1.  I want to be a better friend!  I don't think I'm a bad friend, but I had been in the habbit of talking about me.  For months before the wedding all everyone talked about was me and Ryan.  But now I think I need to go behind the scenes, so to speak.  My amazing friends who let me shine now need to be center stage.

2.  I need a new job!  At one time I loved my job.  I came home everyday feeling like I accomplished something.  Like I made a difference.  So what has changed you ask?  My schedule has changed and not for the better.  I no longer work days, but now 3 nights a week.  I HATE working overnight.

3.  I want to start going back to the gym!  I need to tone up and just be heathy.

4.  Lastly... I want to update this more often!  I have been so busy, but to be honest... I can't even say what I have been doing.  I just want to relax and spend more time doing the things I really want to do... including blogging!  I have missed being here so much and hopefully I will have more time to write.

Happy Halloween...

I'm so sorry this entry has taken so long for me to write, but the truth is, I have been really busy!  I have posted some wedding pictures, but I don't have any professional pictures yet, so keeping checking in!  I promise to post them as soon as I get them!  Ok, so I know everyone wants wedding details, so here it goes...

It was perfect!!!  Everything arrived early... the flowers, the cake, even the limo was early.  We had so much fun getting our hair and make-up done... everyone loved the way they looked.  And trust me, everyone looked beautiful!  The day was sunny and warm, perfect for an outdoor ceremony.  Evidently, during the ceremony butterflies fluttered around my dress.  I never even noticed.  Actually, I didn't notice anything or anyone but Ryan.  I was so happy to walk up the aisle and see my future.  He is amazing... and he's my husband!  After the ceremony we took pictures outside while everyone else mingled inside.  After pictures we were announced as Mr. and Mrs. Cormier then the rest is history!

The reception seemed to happen so quickly.  The Best Man, our friend Deck made the most sweet... and funny... and nicest speech!  The food was delicious, although, I was too excited to eat much more than 3 bites!  We had ham with a cranberry glaze, chicken and broccoli alfredo, stuffed squash, red bliss potatoes, rice, garden salad, and fruit salad.  The wedding cake was so very yummy too... it was strawberry cake with buttercream frosting.  Although, I felt bad cutting into it... it was the cutest cake I have ever seen.  I absolutely loved it!  Our first dance was.... magical!  I felt like a princess dancing with my prince!  Our song was Frank Sinatra's Just The Way You Look Tonight.  We had fun dancing and seeing friends and family we don't get to see often.  The truth is, it happened so fast it's a little hard to remember.  Oh, it was so amazing!

Our honeymoon was so much fun... 10 days in Disney goes by fast!!!  We ate at Cinderella's Castle... yummy!!!  We ate so much good food and so much junk food... I think that was my favorite part!  If you could have only seen the ice cream sundaes, cinnamon buns, fudge, and popcorn we stuffed our faces with!  I think I gained 10 pounds.  Unfortunately, Ryan and I didn't take too many honeymoon pictures.  I will post the ones we did take as soon as I get them developed.

Ryan and I just got a kitten and she is crying at my feet for attention.  So I will say goodbye for now, but Happy Holloween everyone!

So much to say...

As I was looking through previous entries I realized all I have blogged about for months is my wedding!  It has just seemed to be all I think about, all I talk about, and all I write about, but there are other things going on that have seemed to take the back burner.  I have stopped blogging about funny stories and other events going on, so that's what I will try to write about today.

Hmmmm... where to start!!!  Well, my brother did propose to Alex and they have set the date, May 17th.  Yay... so pretty soon!  I'm so excited.  I love Alex and she's already a part of the family, so we're all so excited for them.  Oh, and Peter recieved his station assignment.  The AirForce had told him he would probably end up in Iraq or Japan, so obviously we were hoping for Japan.  It turns out, he doesn't have to travel all that far... he's being stationed in South Dakota!  Woo-hoo!!!  My Mom is beyond happy about his assignment, and we got really lucky!

I'm having a candle party as soon as we get back from our Honeymoon!  I've never had any sort of party, so it should be fun!  We're going to have crackers and cheese, wine, and dessert.  The woman doing the candle presentation is bringing the crackers and cheese, my Mom is bringing the wine, and I'm baking some yummy desserts.  I just haven't decided what desserts yet.  If anyone has any delicious recipes please let me know!

And now for some gossip...  Evidently, my neighbors who are engaged to be married on the same day as Ryan and I got into a fist fight in the middle of the street last week.  Someone called the police and I guess they stopped the fight.  Apparently, this was not the first incident in which the police were summoned to our building.  Ok, so here is the strange part... Ryan and I have never heard anything.  No fights, no police, not even a door slamming!  We missed the street fight and yes, we were home, and awake!  It happened at around 7:30 PM.  How is that possible???  Ahhh, the joys of living in an apartment building!!!

And, I know I said I would try not to blog about the wedding, but I just have to!!!  Yesterday Ryan and I  met with the wedding coordinator at SpringHill.  We finalized our menu, picked linens, and got most of our silly questions answered.  Oh, I'm so excited... less than 3 weeks to go!!!

The leaves are changing...

It's starting to feel like fall!  Leaves have started to change color, Ryan and I have gone apple picking twice so far, and the weather is turning cool.  I love this time of year!!!  I love the sound bright leaves make when I crunch through them, the way my Mom's apple pies smell, and wearing warm sweaters.  Actually, I even bought some Halloween candy!  Although, Ryan and I have managed to eat most of it... yummm!  I couldn't help myself.  I love Halloween and Halloween candy, so when I saw it I just tossed it in my cart.

I normally get excited for this season, but this year I am even more excited.  Don't get me wrong, I do LOVE summer, but there is something so great about the fall season.  And this year, I couldn't wait for summer to be over and for fall to begin because in exactly one month from today I will be getting married!  Woo-hoo!  It just makes the changing weather, the gold leaves, and the delicious apples that much more sweet.

Hello Again....

Hello again my friends.  I haven't updated in such a long time and I'm very sorry!  I have missed being on MSN Spaces and visiting all of you.  My life has been so crazy with work, and family and friends, and of course, wedding stuff!  Yay... only 43 more days!!!  It seems like everytime I have accomplished something wedding related something new pops up.  Argghhh!!!  I keep waiting for that moment of peace, that moment when I realize everything is done and will be perfect.  Unfortunately, I think I'm going to have to wait for our wedding day for that to happen.  Although, I have found a great way to relieve some stress... Ryan bought me a Celtic Hymn CD and it's so soothing to listen to.  When I feel really overwhelmed I just curl up in my bed, play the cd, and close my eyes!  It's one of my new favorite ways to spend spare time.  (And trust me, spare time is harder and harder to find these days!)  You know what though, no matter how stressed I am, I am having the most amazing time!!!

Speaking of amazing times... my Mom and friend Karen threw my bridal shower last Saturday.  It was so much fun!  There were so many lovely women gathered in one place it made the day so much brighter!  My Mom and Karen planned a bunch of games, but everyone just gossiped and giggled and the party flew by!  So, I'm afraid I don't really have any embarrassing shower stories, except when I opened not one, but two boxes from Victoria Secret in front of Ryan's grandmothers!  Oh well, everyone seemed to enjoy my bright red face!

I will end my blog with some very exciting news... my little brother is proposing to Alex next weekend!  My family is so excited for another wedding, and I'm excited for a sister!!!  Goodbye for now my friends.  I will try to update again very soon!

Our Wedding Is Getting Closer....

I'm sorry I haven't been updating lately!!!!  Ryan and I have been so busy getting ready for our big day!  I'm so excited I could burst.... We have somehow weaved a theme into our wedding; black and white polka dots.  Our cake will be frosted with white buttercream frosting with black polka dots on the top and bottom tiers, and a ribbon tied around the middle tier.  Our invitations are white with black polka dots framing the text.  Our bubbles are tied with black and white polka dotted ribbon.  And our centerpieces (which are glass hurricane vases with white candles) as well as our toasting glasses have been painted with black and white polka dots.

We have picked out flowers - Red, Orange, and Yellow Gerber Daisys.  I can't wait to see how the bouquets look!!!  I can't wait to see how everything looks!!!  Every night I close my eyes and see our wedding day.  In my dreams it's always amazingly perfect and I know it cannot even compare to the real thing.  Oh, I can't wait to marry my best friend.

I should update you on some non-wedding news.... Peter graduated from bootcamp.  He's now in Mississippi and seems to be enjoying more freedom than he had in bootcamp.  When he's not on duty he can do pretty much what ever he wants, so I think he's starting to relax.  Alex graduated from Smith and moved to Washington DC.  I guess she'll be in DC for the next year and then as soon as Peter gets his next assignment she will move with him.  I don't think my wedding will be the only one in our future.... I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a sister-in-law!!!

And I will leave you with one last tidbit.... Ryan and I bought a new car!  We traded in my Chevy Cavalier for a brand new Honda Civic.  Poor Ryan, still driving around in an old car while I'm driving in style!  *wink*

SPOOKY DATE NIGHT.....

It's rainy and gloomy today in Maine.  Every once in a while I enjoy days like this and today happens to be one of them!  Don't get me wrong, I'm not extra cheerful because the weather is awful, but I like locking myself indoors and reading a really good book or watching a great scary movie.  Actually, one of my favorite things to do is to read ghost stories and I have found a great site, "The Barrens," where you can read and post your own stories.  I don't know why, but I love being frightened.  There is something exciting about being alone, or snuggling with Ryan, in the dark watching horror flicks.  Before my brother left we saw every serial killer film ever made!!!  We would have serial killer nights and eat tons of junk food!  Maybe that's the best part of being scared... everytime I watch a scary movie or read ghost stories I eat so many gummy bears and popcorn I could burst!  Well, no matter what the reason I think Ryan and I are going to spend our "date night" inside watching scary movies!
(And yes, I LOVE Halloween, it's one of my favorite holidays... not to mention scary movie)

Being A Klutz 101....

"I can't take you anywhere!!!!!"

That is the story of my life.  Let me explain...  Ryan and I went out to dinner this weekend.  He had a craving for Chinese and instead of ordering take out (like usual) I decided we would eat there and make a date out of dinner.  Trust me... that was a bad idea!  So we ordered and everything went well; we ate and everything went well.  We chatted and smiled at each other throughout dinner like any normal couple out on a date, then as we where waiting for our fortune cookies it happened...  I dropped a cup of chinese tea all over myself.  How you ask???  No idea, it just sort of dropped out of my hands and into my lap.  The tea wasn't really hot, which was a good thing, but the first thing Ryan said was not "are you ok" but instead "I can't take you anywhere!"  Yes, I'm a klutz!  The worst part of the story - I was wearing a white shirt, so the yellow tea stain was really noticable as I quickly made my exit!  Oh, the ways I have embarrassed myself throughout the years.  I could write a book!  Anyone else cursed with the klutz gene???

A House In The Country...

This weekend was such a great weekend... Ryan and I went for a drive down old country roads.  We tried to get lost all the while looking for cute houses.  We have been doing this for the last month... we go for drives and tell each other if we see a pretty house.  We plan on looking next summer, but in the meantime, it's fun to dream.  We both seem to be drawn to any house with a farmers porch.  Someday!!!  I truly do love my apartment, it's spacious and it's just a quick walk to bakeries, cafes, the Saco River, and the post office.  But I really want to leave the city!  I miss hearing crickets as I fall asleep.  I wish I didn't hear sirens wailing at any given moment.  So tonight I'm going to dream about a house in the country.  A house filled with the smell of apple pie, sunny windows, a great porch overlooking a garden of tulips, and a skating pond in the back.

Oh, before I end this blog I will leave you my thoughts on Spiderman 3 - I didn't really like it!  "Peter Parker" was not such a great hero in this movie.  Ryan's thoughts - he has already seen it twice!  Told you he was a film geek!  (But, he's my film geek!)  *wink*
